it all started at the school with an altercation. the school incident should be addressed. what if he went to school with the gun instead of paine field. this whole issue needs to be addressed before this kid hurts someone next time so we need to include the parents and legal guardian in this whole thing. parents need to be somewhat responsible for their child.

First of all, Grow Up!!!! Guns laws are the joke....Punishing those that do the right thing and are "mature" enough to maintain a gun is completely wrong. The problem is not the gun or how it was obtained the real problem is the lack of control parents have over their kids. Kids today are spoiled and neglected and the parents are awful role models. And while I am venting...Coventry High School needs to get their head out of their @$$ and take care of our kids instead of cutting programs and why was their no administrative cuts, the town needs to fix the idiots at the fire company that hurt themselves instead of letting it drag out for years, and the parents of this town need to wise up and realize that kids of this decade feel that everything needs to be handed to them on a silver platter. I'm tired of hearing about whining kids and others that are disrespectful. Life is hard and not everyone wins, the sooner these kids realize this maybe they will work harder at school and off their computers and video games. Lets Make Coventry BETTER!!!!

sad how you people are upset more about the story and details instead of the actual incident

Actually it most certainly started at the high school and obviously the only reason the uncle was mentioned is cause the police let the boy go in custody of his uncle instead of training school

The boy should have gone to the training school!!! If he didn't have a policeman for an uncle he would be in the training school no questions asked. So next time this kid gets mad are we going to hear he went on a rampage at some college or work place. He need some physiological help with dealing with anger before he is in the news again
