Gorman & His Thugs are Doomed With His Leadership!
At least when David Gorman pretends to be on a picket line, his wife might know where he is! It was interesting to see the thugs and dimwits picketing in front of Representative Morgan’s house last night. The sign should have read " It’s all about MORE MONEY for the UNIONS and MORE TAXES – NOT about SAFETY !"
If Gorman spent as much time on trying to solve the problem as he does bringing court cases on behalf of the union we might get somewhere! This is how stupid some of these things are…
Gorman’s Goons and himself, at the CCFD board meetings challenge the new board members about hiring an attorney and yet they constantly bring court cases! I hate to use the word stupid, but the board was charged by Justice Stern to seek alternate ways for protection when Central Coventry Fire District is dissolved. So when the board publicized several different alternatives, to lower the cost to the district and provide for real safety, Gorman calls this an "Unfair Labor Practice". So I guess we have to blame Judge Stern for that one.

Gorman in all his press releases and statements before the court loves to say… "in the spirit of good faith bargaining process". It is really a little bit sickening when you must recall Gorman is the guy that negotiated (if that is what you can call it) with the former board regarding their last contract. That former board’s negotiating team was current and past firemen!!! That must have taken some mental wizardry !! I wish we had a fly on the wall, it probably went like this, "David, is that enough money for you and the boys?" G- "Well, let’s remember the girls too!" And frankly, we shouldn’t always say the word money; lets talk about the benefits, early retirement privileges, longevity bonuses, more wiggle room for overtime – you know things like that and safety… talk about safety, safety, safety.
Gorman says, "The new board is incompetent." Are they incompetent because the public overwhelmingly voted for them? Or because the stooges the firemen put up to be on the board to do their bidding were a laughing stock at the voting tally. The new board is a mixture of professionals and blue collar; a true cross section of the voters in Central Coventry Fire District. They can’t be bought off with pension promises for their friends. Gorman’s Goons can threaten them all they want, even harass the female members by following them to their cars after the meeting and shouting at them an calling them names, but they are there to stick it out and do the best for the district that they can.

The Goon Brigade’s new tactics are very simple – go to the meetings, scare the rest of the public off and harass the board to such an extent that they have to go into executive session.
OVERTIME DISCLOSURE: Gorman and his buddies really went ballistic when the board disclosed the top three abusers as follows: Mark Blanding earned $43,692 in Overtime YTD; Russell Giles earned $32,064 in Overtime YTD; David Gorman $26,182 in Overtime YTD !!!!
Someone must be getting ready to retire because in some cases your retirement pay is based on the last few years of income! Gorman called this disclosure another "unfair labor practice", when the board was just trying to show the abusive spending spree that Gorman and all his buddies are on!
David Gorman… it is time for you to RESIGN! You are destroying the reputation of good firefighters from around the community! Your leadership is small minded, irresponsible and vindictive. It is not about safety and the people get it! Your leadership is about money, money, and more money.
It is about buying unneeded equipment and running the equipment you have left into the ground on ridiculous calls that could easily be handled by ambulances alone – and the list goes on.
The people of Central Coventry Fire District are not Anti-Union, there is a great number that work in this district under union contacts and although they may not like it, these contracts were usually negotiated between the employer’s negotiation representative (whether it be municipal or private) and the union representative. You, David, got caught stealing! Face it, you’re done… resign like a man and spend some time with your family!
