William Bezak, Sr., WWII Army Veteran, Dies at 90

January 23, 1923 - August 26, 2013

William J. Bezak, Sr., 90, of Puritan Avenue, Coventry, RI passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Born in Coventry, he was the husband of the late Claire G. (Gendron) Bezak and the son of the late Walenty and Sophie (Mucha) Bezak. 

William was a WWII US Army Veteran. He was a purchasing agent for Schmidt Electric for thirty-five years before retiring in 1988. He belonged to the American Legion Post #2, was a Member of the PNA, the Amateur Ham Radio Association, and was an avid gardener and fisherman and enjoyed polka dancing. 

He is survived by a son; William J. Bezak, Jr. and his companion Sara Conahye, two grandchildren; Erin Barboza and Daniel Bezak and a great granddaughter; Susanna Barboza. 

His memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory in Coventry. Burial with military honors followed in the RI Veterans Cemetery in Exeter.
