Thomas F. LaColle, Coventry Fire District Treasurer, Dies at 59

Thomas F. LaColle, 59, of Coventry, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Ed Sr. and Louise (Boorom) LaColle. 

He is survived by three children: Leigh Ann V. Attoun of Warwick, Derric E. Barber of Panama City, and Leavy M. Vicars of Winterville, NC, and eight grandchildren; Olivia P. D'Andrea, Kaden Attoun, Gracelynn Cobb, Kenzie A. Barber, Kaiden Barber, Keaton Barber, Austin Vicars and Evan Vicars. Tom also leaves behind three siblings, Edward "Ted" F. LaColle, Jr. of Coventry, Larry P. LaColle of Coventry, and Judy L. Saccocia of Warwick, as well as six nephews.

Mr. LaColle graduated from Cornell University with a Master of Business Administration and Certified Public Accountant designation in 1978. He worked in Raleigh and Greenville, NC as a CPA until 1987, before returning to Coventry and embarked on a career as a self-employed CPA serving hundreds of local clients to present day. 

He served as treasurer and was a member of the Board of Directors of Coventry Credit Union since 1971 and also spent time as treasurer of the Central Coventry and Coventry (Anthony) fire districts. He was a long time member of the Club Jogues Tuesday night golf league and the Standish (formerly Nicky's) Thursday golf league, both played at Coventry Pines Golf Course. 

Mr. Lacolle served as an altar boy at SS. Peter & Paul Church in West Warwick and was a member of Cub Scout Pack 22 Phenix and Boy Scout Troop 12 Washington. He participated in many local sports groups including Coventry Little League/ Babe Ruth Baseball, senior Babe Ruth Baseball, Pop Warner Football and other high school sport teams, and also managed a Central Coventry Little League baseball team in the early 1990s.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at SS. Peter & Paul Church in West Warwick on Monday, July 29.
