Obituary: Mary A. (Virgilio) Woodruff, 82

Mary A. (Virgilio) Woodruff, 82, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Born in Warwick she was the daughter of the late Mario and Philomena (Petrarca) Virgilio. She was also the wife of the late Paul Woodruff. 

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and always had something cooking or baking. She was an accomplished piano player and an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Even after her retirement in 2006 from the Coventry School System, where she was a teacher's assistant, she continued to volunteer to work with the children. 

She is survived by her six children Denise Sauvageau, Paul Woodruff and his wife Marianne, Michael, John, Kevin, and Steven Woodruff. She also leaves seven grandchildren; Nicole and her husband Tim Foley, Jennifer Woodruff and her fiancé Brendon Reynolds, John Woodruff Jr. and his fiance Amy Bergen, Ryan and his wife Brianna Woodruff, Bryan Sauvageau and his fiancé Amanda Vadovsky, Taylor Balzano, and Gadge and Christian Woodruff; six great grandchildren; a brother, John Virgilio and his wife Nora; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Virgilio. Mary was predeceased by her brother Mario Virgilio. 

Calling hours are Friday 4-7 pm at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. At her request her funeral and burial will all be private.
