Obituary: Giacomo Palumbo, 81

Giacomo Palumbo, 81, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved wife of fifty-five years to Joanna (Basilico) Palumbo. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Domenico and Maria (Marcello) Palumbo. Giacomo was an assembler for Taco Corporation of Cranston for seventeen years before retiring in 2003.

Besides his wife he is survived by his loving children, Giacomo Palumbo Jr. of Coventry and Loriann Mello of Coventry. Giacomo was the cherished grandfather of Matthew Palumbo and Jacklyn Chavarria, and the great-grandfather of Jacob and Preston.

He was the brother of  Anthony Palumbo of Cranston, and the late Javilo Arroyo, Peter, and Thomas Palumbo, Rose Norcine, Maria Pine, Filomena Grundy, Evelyn Germano, Angelina Palumbo, Eva O’Link, and Etta Amitrano

Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Tuesday, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. George Maronite Church, formerly St. Ann Church, 1493 Cranston Street, Cranston. Entombment will be in Our Risen Christ Garden Mausoleum in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Monday 4-8 p.m.
