Clifford White Sr., Honorary Kent County Sheriff, Dies at 73

March 17, 1940 - November 23, 2013

Clifford D. White Sr., 73, of Coventry, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013.

He was the husband of the late Doris F. (Gibson) White. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Edward and Blanche (Bartos) White.

Cliff was a self-employed mechanic most of his working life. He was an Honorary Sheriff with the Kent County Sheriff's Department and enjoyed boating and entertaining his family and friends.

He leaves three daughters, Donna Lavoie and her husband Joseph of Coventry, Angel Moan and her husband Curt of Coventry and Allison Kohlman and her husband Donald of Hope Valley, and was also the father of the late Clifford D. White Jr.; two step-children, Laurie Orellana and her husband Eddie of South Kingstown and Kevin Limoges and his wife Sandy of Warwick. Cliff also leaves a sister, Carolyn Tattrie of West Warwick; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Richard White.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Committal Service to follow in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
