Albina Sassi (DeSanto), 96, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Armando G. Sassi, for 61 years.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Luisa (DeTorro) DeSanto. She was the devoted mother of Michael J. Sassi and his wife Jane E. (Read) Sassi of West Warwick, Roy L. Sassi of Coventry, Patricia S. Kendall of Coral Gables, FL and Linda M. Spagnoletti and her husband Joseph Spagnoletti of West Berlin, NJ; and the loving grandmother of Brian Paul Sassi. She was the sister of Jenny Tashjian and the late Anita Picerne, Sando DeSantis, Mary Smits, Acecila Patti, Carmella Trudel, Michelina Lanzi, Margaret Buonauito and Elena Beechey.
Her world was her home and family.
Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rhode Island ASPCA.
