Langevin Nominates Coventry's Stinehour to Air Force Academy

Congressman Jim Langevin awarded Coventry resident Katelan Stinehour a nomination to the United States Air Force Academy - a major requirement for hopeful applicants.

Coventry High School senior Katelan Stinehour recently received a principal nomination to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, from Congressman Jim Langevin.

Stinehour, the daughter of Robert and Kimberly Stinehour of Coventry, hopes to follow in the footsteps of her older brother, Nathan, who also attends the Academy.

At Coventry High School, Stinehour is the unit vice commander for the Air Force JROTC, through which she was named to the Kitty Hawk Air Society, received the Military Order of the Purple Heart National Leadership Award and earned the American Legion Scholarship Medal. She has also done extensive community service, volunteering at a nursing home, soup kitchen, summer school and through her church and is also a member of the Interact Club, which focuses on community service.
