3 Coventry Students Commissioned Eucharistic Ministers at Bayview Academy

The Bay View juniors will serve the school community by creating opportunities for spiritual growth through prayer services, retreats, liturgies and community outreach.

At the recent All Saints’ Day Mass at St. Mary Academy – Bay View, 10 juniors, including three from Coventry, were commissioned as Eucharistic ministers and blessed by Father Peter Mongeon of Cranston. The entire Academy, from three year olds in preschool to seniors in the Upper School, gathered for the prayer service.

Of the 10 students commissioned during the Nov. 1 ceremony were Coventry residents Julianna Kohler, Rylee Leonard and Kathryn O’Connor.

In order to become a Eucharistic Minister at Bay View Academy, a student must be a junior or a senior in good standing, who worships regularly and receives the sacrament themselves. They must also be a part of the school's peer ministry.
