Community Rallies to Help Orlando Family Rebuild after Fire

The Orlando family of Coventry lost their house and possessions in a fire on Feb. 27 and friends and neighbors have stepped up to the plate to lend a hand.

So far, they've raised about $11,000 but the goal is to raise $50,000 for the family who are lucky to have made it out of the house safely but lost everything.

The family — Nick, Melissa and Cece — are fortunate to have their dogs with them as well as caring friends.

Family Friend Healther Wirtz created a page on GoFundMe to help raise money and said that "every little bit will help at this time."

"They have one little girl in first grade," Wirtz said. "I am looking to help them with basic needs right now."

Gift cards are also being accepted.
