Learn about materials and
techniques used with this unique painting media – Hot Wax. Encaustic paintings have been around since
the ancient Romans and Egyptians. The media is now being embraced by many contemporary painters. This demo will show how to use melted
beeswax, oil paints as pigments, household appliances and tools to manipulate
the media. We will demonstrate techniques for layering, scrapping back and incorporating collage. No formal painting experience is needed with
these techniques. The media and tools
will take an experienced painter into new and unexpected directions and allow
newbies to create beautiful unique works of art. Free. Classes to be scheduled.
