Westbay Community Action is offering the service to help more area residents capture the earned income tax credit, a tax credit available to lower-income working people to help them keep more of what they earn. Individuals who qualify for the credit also qualify for the free tax preparation program.
“I encourage anyone in this area who qualifies to make an appointment with Westbay Community Action and get some help with their taxes. It’s a free program, and they will make sure everyone is getting as much money back as they should. This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of my district,” said Representative Ferri (D-Dist. 22, Warwick).
According to Dan Rosenbaum, Westbay site coordinator, the agency proudly helps area residents claim about $1.2 million in tax refunds annually.
Anyone seeking the free tax preparation is asked to call Westbay Community Action at (401) 732-4666, ext. 121 to make an appointment. The agency is located at 218 Buttonwoods Ave., Warwick, and serves the people of Warwick, West Warwick and East Greenwich. People may also dial 211 for information about where to get tax help in their area.

Also, to qualify your earned income in 2011 must be less than:
