Potential owners need to be aware that in most cases, insurance is needed to own a Pitbull (or a mix), and renters need to show a notarized letter from their landlord stating that they are allowed to own the specific breed before an adoption can take place.

The cost to adopt one of the pups is $40, $30 of which is returned to the owner once proof of spay/neuter is brought to Animal Control. (Neither dog has been fixed.)

Call Animal Control at 822-9106 for availability information.
