High Wind Warning
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a high wind warning from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday for all of Rhode Island. Winds of 35 – 45 mph with gusts of up to 70 mph are expected with the strongest winds predicted for Monday.
Results of high wind can include widespread power outages from downed trees and power lines. Residents are advised to secure any loose outdoor items immediately.
Coastal Flood Warning
NWS has also issued a coastal flood warning from 6 a.m. Monday to 1 p.m. Tuesday for all of Rhode Island.
Wind gusts and storm surges of 3 to 6 feet could result in minor to moderate flooding inland and major flooding along Narragansett Bay and southern Rhode Island.
The time period of greatest concern is high tide Monday evening.
