Bites Nearby: Flare Offers Homemade Dishes, Elegant Atmosphere

Our suggestion for a good local meal to wrap up your week. You deserve it!

Whether you're planning a family dinner, a romantic date or a night out with friends, Flare Restaurant and Lounge is an appropriate destination.

Located in a small plaza at 577 Tiogue Ave., Flare offers a "casual but elegant dining experience" that can appeal to just about anyone. The interior's modern decor features exposed rock walls, a two-sided fireplace and a custom water wall.

The extensive menu features a selection of beef, chicken, pork and seafood dishes, along with brick oven specialty pizzas, pasta, sandwiches and an assortment of daily specials. Unique desserts like Bananas Foster and homemade dessert pizzas can satisfy any sweet tooth.

The separate lounge specializes in its wine selection, featuring a homemade sangria along with a full bar. The flatscreen TVs make Flare an inviting spot to watch your favorite sporting event.

While the fireplace keeps diners warm through the long winter months, springtime means a move outdoors where guests can dine al fresco on Flare's patio while enjoying live entertainment on select nights.

Flare is open Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 9 p.m. For more information, call 401-615-8577 or visit flarerestaurant.com.

I heard it's really good. If only they didn't use Papyrus. I just can't bring myself to go there because of that.

Michael, Papyrus?? Do you mean paper is made from the papyrus plant like they did in ancient Egypt?? And why would it stop you from going there?

Haha, no I discussed this with Michael a year ago. It's a graphic design joke. Papyrus is an "over-used" font according to many designers and that is what the menu is typed in. I'm sure it won't actually stop him from going there.
