Newport Concert Series At The Newport Yachting Center Going Country This Summer With Josh Turner's Roughstock And Rambler Tour

March 11, 2014 -- The Newport Concert Series at the Newport Yachting Center (formerly the Sunset Music Series) announces that the ARIAT Presents Josh Turner’s Roughstock and Rambler Tour will be making a special stop this summer to bring a little country music to the “City by the Sea”, Thursday, August 14th.  Tickets will be available for purchase for $39.50, $49.50 and $69.50 starting this Thursday, March 13th at noon by visiting www.newportwaterfrontevents.com or calling 800-745-3000.  The gates for the concert will open at 5:30 p.m. with Turner performing at approximately 8:00 p.m.  The Newport Concert Series will take place from late May through October at its unique waterfront venue in the heart of historic downtown Newport.

One of country music’s most recognizable hit-makers, Turner has earned numerous Country Music Association (CMA), Academy of Country Music (ACM) and Grammy nominations since the release of his debut album, Long Black Train in 2010.  His most recent studio album, Punching Bag, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and its single, “Time is Love” hit #1 on the Best of 2012 Billboard Country Chart.  Turner has sold more than five million albums with the help of a host of other songs that have reached the top of the charts, including “Your Man”, “Would You Go With Me”, “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and ”All Over Me”.

The Newport Concert Series at the Newport Yachting Center has announced one other show to-date.  The Wailers & Rusted Root will perform on Saturday, May 31st with tickets are on sale starting at $39.50.  More concerts will be announced this spring with the goal being 16 concerts this season.
