Coventry Artists Among Scituate Art Festival Vendors

Today is the first day of the Scituate Art Festival — here's the schedule of today's events.

It's a Columbus Day weekend tradition around these parts — the Scituate Art Festival — and this year is the 45th year for the three-day event that highlights local vendors from around Rhode Island, including four from Coventry.

Here are the details on the first day of the festival, Oct. 8:

Hours: The festival is scheduled to run today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: Free.

Vendors And Other Info: Frantisek Strouhal and Michael Iacona are among the artists scheduled to be at the festival. J.P. Madison and Bob Robillard Sr. are among the listed vendors for the event. How To Get There: For those of us in Coventry, follow these easy directions to reach the Scituate Village Green:

Take Knotty Oak Road to Rte. 116 and travel for 7.8 miles. Your destination (554 W GREENVILLE RD., NORTH SCITUATE), will be on your left.

Where To Park: Most parking is along local roads, though many folks park in lots where the businesses are closed (the Bank of America branch on Sunday, for example).

Entertainment: The Nightlife Orchestra is scheduled to take the stage today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Open mike from 2 to 4 p.m. Subject to weather conditions.
