Since Aug. 31, seemingly nonstop thunderstorms with torrential rain have forced Coventry drivers and pedestrians to be affected by large pools of water in some areas.
In addition to documenting the crazy weather we've been having, residents should consider contacting their insurance companies to inquire about their flood coverage. Coventry Town Manager Tom Hoover sent the following notice to residents on Tuesday afternoon:
For those affected by flooding, the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) recommends that they contact their insurance company to determine what may be covered under their flood insurance policies.
Right now RIEMA is gathering information on the event. They are urging folks with questions or for more information to call the United Way at 2-1-1. This will help RIEMA gauge the magnitude of the flooding.
