1.) Greene Homestead Tours

Where/When:  (50 Taft St.) ; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.

Why Go: The historic 1770 homestead of Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene is now open for tours. For more information, visit www.nathanaelgreenehomestead.org.

2.) Elks Lodge Luau

Where/When: Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich); Saturday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: The Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge is hosting a Luau Party on August 11. Social Hour begins at 6 p.m., Dinner Buffet at 7 p.m. Buffet includes baked Hawaiian ham, sweet & sour chicken, roast beef and gravy, potatoes, rice, green beans, glazed carrots, dessert and coffee. 3.) Concert on the Pond

Where/When: Wood Cove, Johnson's Pond; Saturday, 6-9 p.m.

Why Go: The Johnson's Pond Civic Association will host its August "Concert on the Pond" Saturday, featuring Zink Alloy.

4.) Community Blood Drive

Where/When:  (23 Shoppers' Park) ; Sunday, 8:00 a.m.

Why Go: Save a life - or three! Donate blood today!

5.) 

Where/When: Sunday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: The Coventry Parks & Recreation Department invites all to attend tis Summer Sunday Night Free Concert Series at Paine Field. This week's performance will feature "Reggie Centracchio Quintet", a Jazz/Swing band. In the event of rain, the concert will be held inside of the Community Center. Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended.

6.) Line Dancing

Where/When: Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge ; Sunday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Want to try something a little different this weekend? Then try your hand (or feet) at line dancing. All ages and abilities are welcome. For more info call Jerry (397-3700) or Lori (206-3618).

Pricing: $6 per person to benefit Elks and Emblems charities.
