No School for Rosh Hashanah: There is no school for Coventry students today in observance of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The holiday last night and ends Tuesday evening. Click here to learn more about the holiday.

Greene Homestead Tours: The historic 1770 homestead of Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene (50 Taft St., Coventry) is now open for tours. Today's visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5/adult, $3 child. Visit www.nathanelgreenehomestead.org for more info.

Cub Scout Sign Up: Pack 11 Coventry will be holding their first pack meeting of the year tonight at the Coventry Community Center from 6:30-8 p.m. Boys in grades 1-5 are invited to stop by and check out Pack 11 and sign up if they would like to join. Plan Ahead: The Western RI Civic Historic Society will host the presentation, "Traces of the Trade", told by Producer/Director Katrina Browne on Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at Coventry Public Library. Browne will tell the story of her forefathers, the largest slave-trading family in US history. Call Jane at 822-9100 for reservations.
