Five Things You Need To Know Today, August 22

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 22. Here are five things you need to know:

 

Free Blood Pressure Screening: Avoid health complications by keeping your blood pressure in check! Hope Library (374 North Road, Hope) offers free blood pressure screenings on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

 The Coventry Lacrosse team is unfunded by the school and they need donations from residents to continue and play another great season.

CPL Evening Storytime: The Coventry Public Library offers Evening Storytime tonight, for children ages 3-8 on beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature stories, fingerplays, flannelboards, songs and crafts and children are invited to wear their PJs! No registration is required.

LVKC Meet & Greet: Tonight at 6:30 p.m., all tutors (current and prospective) from Literacy Volunteers of Kent County are invited to stop by the building (191 Macarthur Blvd.) to ask questions, compare notes, offer advice and discuss adult literacy tutoring. This will be an informal gathering with snacks and beverages.

Plan Ahead: families are invited to the Washington Oak Principal Meet & Greet Ice Cream Social this Friday, Aug. 24 from 3-5 p.m. Come meet and welcome the school's !
