Five Things, July 16: Tennis Registration, Garden Help and More
Today is Tuesday, July 16, 2013 and here are five things you should know about.
Ronald McDonald Visit: Tomorrow, July 17 at 11 a.m., the Coventry Public Library (1670 Flat River Rd.) will host everyone's favorite clown, Ronald McDonald! Children ages 3 and up are invited to enjoy a 30-minute magic show performed by Ronald himself! No registration required.
Community Garden Help: The Coventry Community Garden, organized and overseen by longtime resident Gail Tatangelo, is in great need of volunteers to assist with planting, weeding, watering and harvesting through the summer months. If you're interested in volunteering time to the garden that provides healthy food to Coventry residents in need, email Gail at gail660@verizon.net. Feel free to stop by the garden across from Town Hall to lend a hand!
Plan Ahead - Pasta Dinner Fundraiser: Tickets are now available for the July 27 fundraising event, "Raising the Roof On Humanity", a pasta dinner organized by the wives and significant others of the Central Coventry firefighters, with the hopes of raising enough money to repair the leaking roof of the late CCFD Battalion Chief Bill Hall's house. The dinner will be held from 4-8 p.m. at the West Warwick Elks Club (60 Clyde St., West Warwick) and will cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets can be reserved by emailing events@ccdfaux.org. For more information, visit www.ccfdaux.org.
