Coventry Student a Google Doodle Finalist

Molly Brown now has a chance to win a $30,000 scholarship and a $50,000 grant for the Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School in Coventry.

Molly Brown, an eighth-grader from Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School in Coventry, was named the Rhode Island winner in Google's annual doodle contest.

She now has a chance to win a $30,000 scholarship and a $50,000 grant for her school.

The seventh annual Doodle 4 Google competition asked students across the country to design a doodle based on the theme "If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place..."

Brown's drawing was named "Replicating World Peace." It depicts a "world peace multiplier that creates peace, unity and equality across the world."

A public online vote will determine five national finalists. Google will announce the winner May 21.

You can vote for Brown here.

The winning student will work with a team of professional doodlers to animate their doodle, which will appear on the Google homepage.
