Coventry Dog Park Association to Hold First Meeting

Dog owners in Coventry rejoice! At 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, the first meeting of the Coventry Dog Park Association will take place at the Coventry Community Center.

The park will be established behind the Coventry Town Hall Annex, at 1675 Flat River Rd. (across from Town Hall/Coventry Library). Town officials announced last September that organizer Lisa Finneran and members of the Coventry Dog Park Association were given the go-ahead to utilize the entire first field behind the building that stretches into a wooded area.

As the Association recently gained non-profit status, Finneran is now free to begin seeking volunteers to help raise funds for the creation of the much-anticipated park. Those interested in helping out may sign up at Thursday's meeting or contact Finneran at LFinneran12@gmail.com.

"I'm hoping that we have a lot of interest and get a lot of good ideas," said Finneran, who has been working to see her vision for the park come to fruition for more than a year.
