Sherlock, Karen Ann (Hoegen), 51, of Circlewood Drive, Coventry, RI, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.

Sherlock, Karen Ann (Hoegen), 51, of Circlewood Drive, Coventry, RI, met her maker on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 after being KO'd in the 10th round by cancer, with her family by her side from beginning to end. She was the wife and best friend of Patrick Sherlock. They have been married for the past thirty-five years. From childhood sweethearts to being grandparents, theirs was a true love story. Karen was a former office manager/bookkeeper and domestic engineer who marched to the beat of her own drum and was always fascinated with life's offerings.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of Martin (Vicky) Hoegen of Providence, RI, and the late Carole (Foster) Hoegen, O'Donnell. She was the sister of Mick Hoegen of Providence, RI, Mike Hoegen (Tonya) of North Kingstown, RI, Rhonda Merchant of North Providence, RI, and Megan Hoegen of Providence, RI. She was the sister of the late Susan Hoegen Harrington. She also leaves the most cherished people in her world along with Patrick, whom she was in awe of, her children and grandchildren. She was the mother of Ryan (Melissa) Sherlock of Lincoln, RI, Karissa (Mike-Honey) Fuller of South Kingstown, Amanda (Jay) Jaques of West Warwick, RI, and her surrogate son and nephew Dameon Harrington (Allison) of West Kingstown, RI. Her grandchildren, whom she was in love with; Nyah and Taliah Fuller, Tyler, Jaxon and Liv Sherlock, Kolbi Jaques and Audrey Harrington. She also leaves her father-in-law David Sherlock of North Kingstown and an extended Sherlock family along with many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Dolores Sherlock.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 12:00 pm in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI. Calling hours will be held prior from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will be private.
