Joseph Edgar Raboin, formerly of West Warwick, RI, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014

Joseph Edgar Raboin, formerly of West Warwick, RI, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at Alpine Nursing Home, Coventry, RI. Born in West Warwick, RI he was the husband of the late Modestina M. (Petrarca) Raboin and the son of the late Edward and Ogna (Cormier) Raboin.

 Mr. Raboin was a US Army Veteran of WWII, serving with the Ordinance Company in England, Belgium and Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Senerchia Post, VFW #449, and St. John the Baptist Holy Name Society.

 Ed was a member of the heating trade for forty-five years. He was the sole proprietor of Ed's Oil Burner Service for twenty-five years. A frequent contributor to trade journals, Ed was one of the top ten winners in a national contest sponsored by the Fuel Oil Industry News Magazine in 1954. After retiring in 1990, he donated many hours volunteering at various agencies, including the RI Community Food Bank, the Kent Hospital, Meals on Wheels and McAuley House.

 He is survived by a daughter; Lucille Boyce and her husband Michael Stark of Wakefield, RI, a granddaughter; Stephanie Boyce of North Kingstown, RI and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lionel Raboin, Yvonne LaChapelle, Claire Coutu, Irene Tillinghast and Normand Raboin.

 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 10:00 am in the St. John & James Church, Washington Street, West Warwick, RI. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Warwick, RI.

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the RI Community Food Bank or an organization of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be shared by visiting.
