George E. Camera, 62, of Providence, RI

George E. Camera, 62, from Providence, RI passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born to the late George B. Camera and Ann M. Camera, April 19, 1952, in Providence RI. George graduated from Cranston East High School in 1970 and enlisted in the military in 1971. George served as a Sargent in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as an In-Flight Refueling Operator and Construction Equipment Operator. After the war, George worked as a postal carrier and clerk for the US Postal Service, for 26 years, in Providence, RI.

 George is survived by three children, Tricia Camera of Shrewsbury, MA, Lisa Camera of N. Providence, RI, and Christina Weeks Rivera of Cranston, RI. George is also survived by five siblings, Joanne Maltagliati of So. Glastonbury, CT, Barbara Potter of Johnston, RI, David Camera of Coventry, RI, Ann Therriault of Stratford, CT, and Jeannette Axelsson of Cape May, NJ. George’s legacy continues with three grandchildren. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews.

 In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island 501(c)(3), 1010 Hartford Avenue, Johnston, RI.

 There will be no calling hours. A Burial Service with military honors will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday March 22, 2014 at Greenwood Cemetery, 75 Fairview Avenue, Coventry, RI.

 Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory, 721 Washington Street in Coventry, RI.
