Wine Tasting for Literacy Tonight at ShelaLara (and 4 More Things)

    Wine Tasting with LVKC: Tonight, Sept. 20, the Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) will host a wine-tasting fundraiser at Shelalara Vineyards and Winery (21-B Reservoir Road). The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. and will feature wine, hors d'oeuvres, music and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.     PYO Berries: From 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday at Alpacas of Harkney Hill (1394 Harkney Hill Rd.), customers can "Pick Your Own" low and high-growing wild blueberries and huckleberries to purchase. Informational alpaca demonstrations are also offered at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes! For more information, call 397-4761.

    Artisans and Crafters: The Friends of the Coventry Public Library are now accepting applications for artisans and crafters for the 3rd Annual Fall Artisan Fair to be held on Saturday, Oct. 5.     Free Computer Lessons: Have you been considering taking a course to get you up to speed with the basics in today's digital age? Now is the time to take advantage of Coventry Public Library's Free Computer Lessons for Beginners! Lessons are offered in basic computer skills, searching the internet, making Excel spreadsheets, creating Word documents, and even navigating Facebook. Space is limited.     Plan Ahead - John H. Urwin III Memorial Scholarship: Tickets are now available for the annual fundraiser to benefit the John H. Urwin Memorial Scholarship Fund. This year's prize will consist of five tickets to Gillette Stadium to see the New England Patriots take on the Cleveland Browns on December 8. Raffle tickets are $10 each and are on sale at Coventry Little League Concession stands at Wood Street and Paine Field, at Pagliarini's Family Restaurant (637 Washington St.), or by contacting Laurie at 826.1746. The drawing will take place on September 28, immediately following the organization's Pasta Dinner.
