Meditation as Medication at CPL Tonight (and 4 More Things)

    Meditation as Medication: At 7 p.m. this evening, Coventry Public Library will host the second visit from Dr. Alan Post, a chiropractor from North Kingstown and contributing editor of the book Meditation as Medication for the Soul. He will cover the scientific and medical aspects of meditation as well as conducting a practice session to help participants find peace of mind. To register, call Jane at 822-9104.

    NECAP Testing: New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) testing will take place today for students in grades 3-5. Parents are asked to make sure children get a good night's sleep beforehand and have a good breakfast each morning. Additional testing for these grades will take place Oct. 15-16.

    18+ Bingo: The Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.) will hold Bingo today and every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $4 plus Specials. All are welcome, but must be 18 years and older to play.

    Dog Park Fundraising Help: Lisa Finneran, President of the newly-formed Coventry Dog Park Association, is looking for volunteers to help raise donations to go towards building the highly-anticipated dog park behind the Town Hall Annex on Flat River Road.     Register Today - Ray Wolf at NEFA: Tomorrow, Oct. 10 from 7-8:30 p.m., New England Farm and Artist, located at 1112 Main Street in Coventry, will host local author Raymond A. Wolf. He will be talking about and signing copies of his latest book, Coventry, which covers the history of Coventry's 15 villages. Click here to learn more!
