Historical Society Hosts 'History Buffs' Event Tonight (and 4 More Things)

    History Buffs Event: From 6:30 to 9 p.m. this evening at the Coventry Senior Center (50 Wood St.), the Western RI Civic Historical Society/Paine House Museum Association will host "History Buffs", a free evening of refreshments and reminiscing. Guests are invited to bring along old photos, articles, maps and documents that other local history buffs may find interesting. Local historians and authors will also be present to share some of their collections.

    CHS Early Dismissal: Coventry High School students will be released at 12:30 p.m. today to allow teachers additional Professional Development time. On the high school's early dismissal days, CHS schedules are switched so all academic classes (periods 5,7,8) meet and advisory (period 6) is missed.

    School Committee Meeting: Members of the Coventry School Committee will meet tonight at Coventry High School following their 6:30 p.m. tour of the Regional Career & Technical Center. Click here to view this evening's agenda.

    Greene Library November Craft: For the month of November, Greene Library (179 Hopkins Hollow Rd.,Greene) will offer a Needle Felted Sheep Ornament craft lesson each Tuesday afternoon. This fuzzy sheep ornament is simple to make and can be displayed year round. $5 fee per person includes supplies and instruction. Call 397-3873 to register.
