'Gothic Tales by Candlelight' Tonight at CPL (and 4 More Things)

    Youth Crochet Class: From 4-5 p.m. today and Nov. 21, Greene Library (79 Hopkins Hollow Rd., Greene) will offer basic crochet lessons for youths, grades 5 and above. Join Miss Charlotte in this free 3-week workshop, during which she will help participants get started on their own projects. Children can bring their own yarn or share the Library's, but must bring a 6.0mm crochet hook to each lesson.     Elks Fall Pitch Card League: The Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich) will host its Fall Pitch (Hi-Lo-Jack) Card League tonight and each Thursday at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person per week. All adults welcome. At the end of the season, prizes will be handed out at an Awards Dinner. For more information, call Denise at 226-5053.

    CPD Safety Event: The Coventry Police Department will host a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop today from 4-7 p.m. at Dunkin Donuts, located at 800 Tiogue Ave.

    Artists Reception at NEFA: From 7-9 p.m. this evening, New England Farm and Artist (NEFA), located at 1112 Main Street in Coventry will host an Artists Reception to introduce the artists who will be exhibiting from November to January. Featured artists include Beverly Silva, Mixed Media/Oil Painting; Aileen McElroy, Photography; Joanne Ficorilli, Oil Painting; Joan Edge, Oil Painting and Nancy Nielsen, Photography.     Gothic Tales by Candlelight: Tonight at 7 p.m., the Coventry Public Library will host "Gothic Tales by Candlelight", hosted by Rita Parisi. Rita will portray Sarah Orne Jewett, a native of South Berwick, Maine and one of New England's most prolific female writers of the 19th century. Mrs. Jewett's short stories mirror the everyday lives of New Englanders; often reflecting the mysterious and supernatural atmosphere of this region. Call Jane at 82209104 to register.
