FroYo for Literacy Today (and 4 More Things)

    LVKC FroYo Fundraiser: From 4-8 p.m. today the Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) will hold a fundraiser at Orange Leaf (Frozen Yogurt), located at 1,000 Bald Hill Rd., Warwick. 10% of all net sales during the event will be donated directly to LVKC. Show your support for local literacy while enjoying a tasty frozen treat!

    Steak Fry Reservations: Today is the deadline to make reservations for the Coventry Men's Club Steak Fry, scheduled for Sept. 20. at 7 p.m. A steak dinner will cost $12.99, a chicken dinner $10.99. Live music will follow the meal. Reservations can be made by calling 385-3536.

    The HUNT at CHS: Coventry High School juniors and seniors may purchase tickets for The HUNT 2013 during lunches today and Thursday. The event will take place Oct. 5 from 6 -10 p.m. Cost is $32.00 for a team of four. To purchase tickets, each team member must have a signed permission slips, which may be obtained from Mr. Leonard, Mrs. Kelly or Mrs. Tracy.

    P&R Tennis Lessons: The Coventry Parks & Recreation Department is offering tennis lessons with instructor Patrick LaSalle on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 24-Oct. 17 on the courts at Paine Field. Grades 6-10 at 3:15 p.m., Grades 3-5 at 4:15 p.m., and adults (18+) from 5:15-6:45 p.m. Cost is $25 for all eight classes. Registration is ongoing in the Parks & Recreation Office, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 822-9107 for more information.

    Plan Ahead - Wine Tasting with LVKC: On Friday, Sept. 20, the Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC) will host a wine-tasting fundraiser at Shelalara Vineyards and Winery (21-B Reservoir Road). The event will take place from 6-9 p.m. and will feature wine, hors d'oeuvres, music and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
