Donate Pet Food at Centreville Bank (and 4 More Things)

PYO Berries: Today from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Alpacas of Harkney Hill (1394 Harkney Hill Rd.), customers can "Pick Your Own" low and high-growing wild blueberries and huckleberries to purchase. Informational alpaca demonstrations are also offered at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes! For more information, call 397-4761.

CPD Golf Tourney: The Coventry Police Department will hold its 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at 10 a.m. on Sept. 9 at Foster Country Club (67 Johnson Rd., Foster). Tournament will feature Shotgun Start and Scramble Format. Entry is $105/golfer of $400/team. Dinner is also available for non-golfers. Entry deadline is this Saturday, Aug. 31. Feed a Furry Friend! Saturday, Aug. 31 is the last day to contribute to Centreville Bank's pet food drive to benefit the Meals on Wheels of RI Pet Food Delivery Program. Donations can be dropped off at your nearest Centreville Bank branch on or before this Saturday and will be used to help feed a senior's pet companion.

CHS Blood Drive: On Friday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 7:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., the Rhode Island Blood Center will be collecting donations in the Coventry High School gymnasium. The Back to School Blood Drive is open to all students, staff, faculty and parents. Note: 16-year-old students must weigh a minimum of 130 pounds to donate and need a signed permission slip available at the front office of nurse's office. Students 17 and older must weight at least 110 pounds, but do not need parental permission. All students who donate will receive a "Get Out of Gym" card good for one class and a coupon for a healthy snack.
