    CPD Application Deadline: Applications (with all required documents and $20 testing fee) for the Coventry Police Department police officer eligibility list are due by 4:30 p.m. today, Dec. 6. Click here for more information, application and documents.

    Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales today and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story. Call (401) 397.3873 to register.

    Weekend Closing: Coventry Animal Control will be closed both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. For animal-related emergencies during that time, contact the Coventry Police Department at 826-1100 or DEM at 222-6800 for wildlife issues.

    LVKC Fundraiser: From Dec. 5-8, 15% of the purchases made at The Bead Sting, located at 57 Sandy Bottom Rd., Coventry, will benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC). LVKC is a nationally accredited adult literacy program based out of the Coventry Public Library trains volunteers to tutor adults whose limited English literacy skills prevent them from functioning effectively in their homes, workplaces, and communities. Click here for complete fundraiser details.
