CHS Welcomes Parents at Tonight's Open House (and 4 More Things)

"Coventry" Discussion in Hope: Tonight at 6:30 p.m., Hope Library (374 North Rd., Hope), will host local author Ray Wolf, who will discuss his latest book, Coventry. All are invited to attend the free program, but are asked to register by calling 821.7910 as seating is limited.

Blithewold Gardens at CPL: Tonight at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, the Coventry Public Library will host a presentation featuring Bristol's Blithewold Gardens. Signed copies of Blithewold: Legacy Of an American Family by Margaret Whitehead, are available for sale at a discount price of $23 after the presentation.

WCFD By-Laws/Charter Review Meeting: At 7 p.m. tonight, the Western Coventry Fire District By-Laws and Charter Review Committee will meet at the Summit Station (1110 Victory Hwy., Greene). Click here to view this evening's agenda.

CHS Open House: Beginning at 6:30 p.m. this evening, parents of Coventry High School students are invited to the 2013 CHS Open House. During the 2-hour event that will begin in the school auditorium, parents will have an opportunity to learn about their child's classes and schedule, meet faculty, tour the school and find answers to any questions they may have. Tomorrow - Paine House Beer Tasting: Join members of the Western Rhode Island Civic Historical Society tomorrow, Sept. 27 from 5-9 p.m. for the First Annual Paine House Museum Beer Tasting event. Sample local brews from Trinity Brewhouse, Ravenous Brewing Company, Foolproof Brewery and Narragansett Brewery. The evening will feature beer sampling, food provided by CHS' Knotty Oak Room, music by Town Councilman Greg Labossonniere and ghost tours conducted by RISEUP. $30 per person to benefit ongoing Paine House restoration. This is a 21+ event (valid photo ID required for entry).
