Christmas Classics at CPL Tonight (and 4 More Things)

    CPD Safety Event: Today from 4-7 p.m., the Coventry Police Department will hold a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop at Walgreens, located at 875 Tiogue Avenue.

    Christmas Classics: At 7 p.m. this evening, the Coventry Public Library will present dramatic readings of the Christmas classics A Child's Christmas in Wales by Thomas Dylan and A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. The stories will be presented by actor, director and playwright Robb Dimmick. To register, call Jane at 822-9104.

    LVKC Fundraiser: From Dec. 5-8, 15% of the purchases made at The Bead Sting, located at 57 Sandy Bottom Rd., Coventry, will benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Kent County (LVKC). LVKC is a nationally accredited adult literacy program based out of the Coventry Public Library trains volunteers to tutor adults whose limited English literacy skills prevent them from functioning effectively in their homes, workplaces, and communities.     Tomorrow - CPD Application Deadline: Applications (with all required documents and $20 testing fee) for the Coventry Police Department police officer eligibility list are due by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6. Click here for more information, application and documents.
