Blood Drive at Centre of New England Today (and 4 More Things)

    Community Blood Drive: Be a hero and donate blood today! Representatives from the Rhode Island Blood Center will be in the school gymnasium at Trudeau-Pathways (75 Centre of New England Blvd.) from 3-6 p.m.

    Blackrock Back to School: From 6-7 p.m. this evening, Blackrock Elementary School families are invited to "Back to School Night" on the playground to welcome a new school year. Refreshments will be provided by the PTA. Note: Principal Alicia Castle announced Wednesday that installation of the school's new signs has been delayed, causing the scheduled building re-dedication to be postponed until sometime next month.

    Class Lists Revealed! Parents of elementary school students - the day is almost here when you can finally tell the kids what teachers they have for the 2013-014 school year! Class lists will be posted on school windows no earlier than 4 p.m. on Friday, which is also the date of Kindergarten Orientation throughout the district.

    Be a Sports Blogger! Are you crazy about Coventry sports? Coventry Patch is looking for bloggers for the fall sports season, whether it be youth, high school, college or professional.     Breakfast in August: Tomorrow, Aug. 23, the Coventry Senior Center, located at 50 Wood Street, will hold its monthly breakfast from 7:30-9 a.m. For just $3, guests will enjoy scrambled eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, pancakes or English muffin, with juice, coffee or tea. All are welcome!
