The statutory duty of bank to honour his customer’s cheque is terminated in the following circumstances. The banker must, therefore, refuse payment of the cheques without incurring any liability: (1) When the drawer countermands payment: A cheque is an unconditional order of the drawer to the banker. The drawer is competent to cancel or withdraw such order at any time before its payment is made. The drawer need not explain the reason for stopping payment of a cheque
