DESCRIPTION:The  goal of this course is to provide individuals with the b
 asic knowledge  and skills necessary to provide effective basic life sup
 port in an  emergency and what to do in the case of an airway obstructio
 n or  choking. Additionally\, this course has been found acceptable for 
 meeting  requirements established by state child care licensing\, a wide
  variety  of professional state and federal agencies\, associations\, co
 uncils\,  academies\, and boards. The program is an excellent choice for
  both the  community and workplace setting\, and is based upon the 2010 
  International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and  Eme
 rgency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment  Recommendations
  (CoSTR) and other evidence-based treatment  recommendations. Basic Firs
 t Aid was created to help students  develop basic first aid knowledge\, 
 skills\, and the confidence to  respond. The program is an excellent cho
 ice for both the community and  workplace setting\, and is consistent wi
 th recommendations of the 2010  National First Aid Science Advisory Boar
 d and OSHA&rsquo\;s best practices for  first aid training programs in t
 he workplace. Some of the topics covered  are: patient assessment\, blee
 ding emergencies\, burns\, medical  emergencies and emotional considerat
 ions. The course includes a book\, 2  year certification card and all cl
 ass materials. Include CPR/AED for a  complete training program.
