DESCRIPTION:The goal of this course is to provide individuals with the ba
 sic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life suppo
 rt in an emergency and what to do in the case of an airway obstruction o
 r choking. Additionally\, this course has been found acceptable for meet
 ing requirements established by state child care licensing\, a wide vari
 ety of professional state and federal agencies\, associations\, councils
 \, academies\, and boards. The program is an excellent choice for both t
 he community and workplace setting\, and is based upon the 2010 Internat
 ional Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Car
 diovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations (CoSTR) an
 d other evidence-based treatment recommendations. Basic First Aid was cr
 eated to help students develop basic first aid knowledge\, skills\, and 
 the confidence to respond. The program is an excellent choice for both t
 he community and workplace setting\, and is consistent with recommendati
 ons of the 2010 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA&rsquo
 \;s best practices for first aid training programs in the workplace. Som
 e of the topics covered are: patient assessment\, bleeding emergencies\,
  burns\, medical emergencies and emotional considerations. The course in
 cludes a book\, 2 year certification card and all class materials. Inclu
 de CPR/AED for a complete training program.
