Coventry's Preventure Expands to New Location

The Coventry-based wellness company continues to grow and with it, so does the need for additional local hires.

Preventure, a Coventry-based corporate health and wellness provider, has outgrown its Route 3 office and recently relocated to a 10,000 square foot facility at 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road, where a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Friday to celebrate the move. From Bruisers to Beauties: What's Your Dream Car?

Whether it is something full of raw power or finesse, everyone's dream car is unique.

Whether it started with the nearly imperceptible shape and accompanying wail of a passing Italian exotic, hours spent staring down the lines of a German poster car, or your first time slogging through mud that no machine should be able to transverse — all the cars of our dreams have their origins. My first dream car — and most car people will have at least a few in their life time — began to take form upon hearing my first burbley V8. It was a passing sound that is attached to no vehicle in my memory, but it stuck with me. It wasn’t until I saw the lines of a 1966 Pontiac Tempest GTO that the form took shape. When I heard that boisterous engine while staring at a GTO, I knew that car had worked itself into my mind forever. Since that time…

Amgen to Pay $11 Million Nationwide Medicaid Settlement

Rhode Island’s Medicaid program will receive $54,248 from the biotechnology company as a result.

Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin announced Tuesday that Rhode Island, as part of a nationwide settlement against the drug manufacturer Amgen, Inc., has resolved allegations that the company violated certain state false claims acts, by reporting inflated pricing data for its prescription drugs Aransep, Enbrel, Epogen, Neulats, Neupogen, and Sensipar, causing Rhode Island and other states Medicaid programs to overpay for those drugs. Rhode Island’s recovery pursuant to the multi-state settlement is $54,248. Amgen's 73-acre Rhode Island campus, located at 40 Technology Way in West Greenwich, is dedicated to the manufacture of Enbrel, one of the drugs involved in the settlement. Council Renews Storage and Preservation Contract for Town Records

Self-sustaining process will continue to preserve municipal records, currently dating back to 1976.

Council approved Monday, the renewal of a 5-year contract with ACF, a records storage and preservation vendor used by the Town to organize and store land evidence records, deeds, mortgages and other important municipal documents. Management Information System (MIS) Director, Edward Warzycha, explained that the company's initial 5-year contract beginning Jan. 2008 has expired, and during that time a large portion of the Town's records were successfully scanned and preserved. He went on to state that if the Town changed vendors, it would lose a $400,000 investment and need to begin its record preservation process from scratch. "Because of the amount of work involved with this process, to go with another vendor would cause us to lose a …
