What Advice Would You Give Incoming High School Freshmen?
As Coventry High School opens its doors once again at the end of this month, a new crop of freshmen will begin their high school careers.
As the calendar flips to August, thoughts start to turn to the first day of the new school year.
When Coventry High School re-opens for business on August 29, a brand new crop of freshmen will begin the wild, four-year (in most cases) journey that is high school.
So we pose the question -- What advice would you offer to the incoming Class of 2016?

My advice is to enjoy it while it lasts! These next four years will fly by. At limes it may get really tough and you might not want to even show up, but fight through. I promise you that it will all be worth it when you get to the Ryan center and you can cross that stage and finally say "I did it! I graduated!"

My advice would be to try a little bit of everything while you're at CHS. Sports, music, newspaper, radio, theater, student government, etc. - it's always good to get a taste of what is out there.

Learn your strengths and apply them. Learn your weaknesses and overcome them. Set goals and work to achieve them but don't fear failure, learn from it.

Understand how important this part of your life is. Take your education seriously and always give 110% effort.
Don't get caught up in the drama, be happy with you are as a person, and HAVE FUN!!!

Find something you are passionate about and pursue it at the Regional Career and Technical Center. Joining Heath Careers was the best decision of my entire High School Career!
