To wrap up their portion of the district-wide Wellness Week, students, teachers and even a few parents from Blackrock School came together on the sports field to perform a well-rehearsed "Flash Mob Dance" on Friday afternoon.

Participants grooved to a Kidz Bop version of the hit song, "Party Rock Anthem", and incorporated fitness moves like high steps and jumping jacks into their dance.

And of course, as the song suggests, there was a lot of 'shuffling'.

this is disgraceful.... these kids should be in school LEARNING, not bopping around like a bunch of no-good hooligans....

I think it is great that the kids had a chance to get outside and have some fun. It was part of wellness week which encourages kids moving and being active. I know my son has a lot of energy and just needs to get it out sometimes. I think it was a nice idea.

to me this looks less like a "flash mob" and more like a gang initiation. is this what my tax dollars are going towards? did you know that the group who sings this song is called "LMFAO"? We all know what the "F" stands for... I rest my case...

I'm sure that's why the administration decided to go with the Kidz Bop version of the tune, Harry. The kids looked to be having a blast to me!
