How do they completely strip and resurface miles of Rt. 95 in far less time than it is taking to resurface a much smaller stretch of Rt. 3?

I would venture to guess that it is because I 95 doesn't have sewers, storm drains, water lines, gas lines, electrical lines to contend with. Not only that they have had to elevate all of the road penetrations so they could put a thicker layer of surfacing. Oh yea and they installed alot of sidewalks.

Yes indeed, lots of sidewalks although that project took place during the winter months. Regardless, I venture to estimate that a comparable project in MA, CT or NH would have been completed long ago, and will probably last a lot longertoo. But, after all this was paid mostly with federal money, so why should we care, right?

I guess I am just an incorrigible optimist, but I am hoping that they get the job done right and they don't have to dig it back up for a long time. I would like to see our town looking great, so that visitors come away impressed. I work from home and frequently invite suppliers here for lunch meetings.
