Representative Morgan Appointed to House Finance, Rules Committees
As part of the committees Morgan will work towards a balanced budget and governmental organization.
State Representative Patricia Morgan (R-District 26, West Warwick, Coventry) has recently been appointed to serve on the important House Finance and Rules Committees for the 2013-2014 legislative session.
The appointments were announced by House Minority Leader Brian Newberry.
The House Finance Committee has primary oversight of the state’s $8 billion-plus budget, while the Rules committee sets parliamentary and organizational rules for the House of Representatives and its committees.
“Patricia Morgan has shown a terrific ability to dig into the big issues facing our state, and work effectively with everyone in the House in search of good solutions," said Newberry.
“At the same time, she is principled and willing to fight for those things she thinks important. This is the perfect combination of skills for the Finance Committee, and I know she will do a superb job of representing the taxpayers as a member of this committee,” he continued.
Morgan, of West Warwick, was first elected to the House in 2009, and was re-elected in 2011. She serves as Deputy Minority Leader – Policy for the Republican delegation in the House.
