With about a third of all the votes cast, Narragansett Town Beach has beat out 13 other options to be this week’s Readers’ Choice winner for Best Stay-cation Spot.
When people close their eyes and daydream of the stereotypical beach experience, Narragansett Town Beach is often a good approximation of this. It features shimmering and soft sand, the Towers in the distance and a little more than a mile of walk-able coastline.
The surrounding area also offers plenty of options, ranging from the shops in the Pier Marketplace to the history of the South County Museum and Canonchet Farm to the simple joy of walking along the seawall. Want to make a formal vacation of it? There are small B&Bs dotting the coast, and the Village Inn.
