Patch's Poll: Will Tonight's Presidential Debate Influence Your Vote?

Some say the Denver debate between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama could change the campaigns.

The much-anticipated debate between Republican Mitt Romney and Democrat Barack Obama will air tonight and pundits on both sides of the political aisle have spent the last few days breathlessly pontificating on how the debate can reshape the campaigns.

Some say Romney is seeking to downplay his performance in the debate and its outcome in an attempt to lower expectations of the GOP candidate’s face-off with President Obama. Doing so means that if Romney does better than expected, it increases his chances of being declared the winner.

Romney supporters are hoping the debate will help reshape and reboot his campaign, which has taken numerous hits in recent weeks for missteps.

Others say a win for Obama will solidify the president’s lead in polls in certain key swing states.

Both candidates have spent a lot of time in recent weeks preparing for the debate, which takes place tonight at 9 p.m., Eastern Time, in Denver.

But do presidential debates really change voters mind? Or is all this build-up simply campaign and media hype? Take our poll and tell us in the comments what you think.

I voted other. Now I know that as journalists the author would say that they are neutral in this aspect and the moderators are supposed to be neutral as well. Okay now, they are most certainly going to skew questions in accordance with their paycheck providers political slant because they were hired by that agency CBS, CNN etc. I will bet that the moderators are far from "neutral". Not saying they would be extreme. That would be hilarious to see Fox News journalists moderating a debate on MSNBC and vice versa. Then say the moderators were neutral. If all fails in the first couple of questions then I'll resort to my box set of Rex Trailer and Boomtown.

I voted other as well. Unless you know the facts, it's hard for Joe Citizen to know the truth vs. lies. I hope that people take the time to inform themselves by doing their own research to find out as much of the truth as we will ever know.
