UPDATE: Victims Identified - One Driver Dead, Another Airlifted After Head-on Collision
The two-car accident occurred on Station Street at about 7:30 Sunday night.

According to reports, Moore's family said that he was complaining of chest pains shortly before the accident and was attempting to drive himself to get help when the crash occurred.

Police have identified the 41-year-old driver that died at the scene as Randy Moore of 291 Station Street.
The 55-year-old victim at Rhode Island Hospital has been identified as Stephen Volpe, 55, of 15 Remington Farm Drive.
A release from Coventry Police states as follows:
On March 4 at 7:21 p.m., Coventry Police responded to the area of Station Street and Fairway Drive to investigate a motor vehicle accident, involving two vehicles.
A preliminary investigation showed that a 2003 Honda Accord was traveling south on Station Street when it apparently crossed over the center of the road and crashed head on into a 2006 Ford Explorer, which had been traveling north on Station Street.
The operator of the Honda was identified as Randy Moore, age 41, of 291 Station Street Coventry RI. Moore died at the scene. Moore’s remains were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s office for further investigation.
The operator of the Ford is identified as Stephen Volpe, age 55, of 15 Remington Farm Drive, Coventry. Volpe was extricated from his vehicle at 8:39 pm and transported by Life Flight helicopter to Rhode Island Hospital. Volpe was conscious but believed to be in serious condition. The Life Flight helicopter landed at Foster Field, a town park, across from the accident scene.
A Coventry Police Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and continues to investigate this accident.
The Central Coventry Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by the Anthony Fire Department.

Officials have released that the 41-year-old driver who was killed while traveling south on Station Street may have lost control of his vehicle because of medical reasons.
The condition of the 55-year-old man at Rhode Island Hospital has not been confirmed as of Monday morning.
Mar. 4: One driver is dead and another is being airlifted to Rhode Island Hospital after a head-on collison on Station Street just outside Foster Memorial Park Sunday about 7:30 p.m.
The driver of a white SUV was reportedly conscious and speaking after he was extracted from the vehicle that collided with a blue sedan. There were only two individuals involved - no passengers. The victims have not been identified but officials confirm they are both male.
