10:12 a.m.: Planet Fitness in Coventry and Warwick are allowing residents without power to use their shower facilities. A gym membership is not required, however they are asking that residents being a photo ID with them.
Update - Oct. 30, 7:42 a.m.: According to Coventry Public Works, trash regularly picked up Monday-Wednesday will have a two-day delay. Trash regularly picked up Thursday-Friday will have a one-day delay.

11:58 a.m.: Citizens Bank branches will be closing Monday at 1 p.m.
Coventry Parks & Recreation Program Supervisor Jason Licciardi has announced that all Parks & Recreation classes scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Oct. 30 will be cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy’s projected lingering effects.
Classes are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, Oct. 31. "We will do our best to schedule make up days if there are dates available," read Licciardi's email. "Your instructor will let you know at the class."
Note, going forward, anytime school is cancelled or let out early due to inclement weather, all Parks & Recreation classes are cancelled.
Coventry Public Library will be closed Monday after 12 p.m.
The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) will suspend operations Monday because of Hurricane Sandy. A statement from RIPTA said it will suspend service in Newport and South County beginning at 10 a.m. Statewide service will be suspended at noon.

- SS John & Paul, No CCD, Confirmation classes or classes Monday and Tuesday

12:30 p.m.: Along with schools being closed in Coventry on Monday and Tuesday, trash pickup is also canceled for those two days. A state of emergency has been declared for Coventry and a voluntary evacuation of campgrounds and mobile home parks is also in effect.
The Coventry Police Department has ordered a parking ban beginning at midnight on Oct. 28 until further notice.
The Coventry Senior Center will be closed on Monday, however staff is still expected to report to work.
Oct. 28 - 10:50 a.m.: Keep checking this page for updates about Hurricane Sandy's progress and how it is affecting Coventry. Aside from the usual government and town agency posts that will be presented to you, this is where you can find school and business closings as well as downed trees and power lines, power outages and other dangerous situations.
